Urgent Dental Care in Fredericton
Urgent Care
There are a number of inconvenient dental related incidents that can occur (broken tooth, hypersensitivity, crown falling off, detection of suspicious lesion in mouth, etc.). At NSDC we perform an examination and, if needed, radiographs for patients that arrive at our office for an urgent care appointment. However, due to the patient flow of this office, we may not be able to provide definitive non-emergency treatment on the same day. There are by-appointment times for these dental issues that can be treated at a later date.
Non-Urgent Dental Emergency
For the following dental problems, you may consult with your dentist during regular business hours instead of going to the emergency room. However, a dental consultation is still critical.
- Dull toothache
- Slightly chipped tooth or a small crack in the tooth
- Cracked or broken tooth without severe pain and sensitivity
- A lost dental filling, bridge, or crown without pain
- Food stuck between teeth
For other dental emergencies, such as excessive bleeding, please seek care at a hospital emergency room. When you visit us, the purpose of your emergency visit will be to relieve the discomfort, diagnose the problem and advise you of your options for resolving it. When you visit us, we may take X-rays, check the condition of your teeth, smooth off sharp edges, prescribe medication, or refer you to a specialist.
